EYE PROJECT REPORT – submitted by Mary Beardslee
Paul visited several people this month and took them some drops and diabetic supplies. Paul also took Ian to see a cardiologist 2 times this month in Ensenada to get him cleared for surgery. Ian has been sick and today they visited him and he was better and they should be taking him for surgery on Monday.
Sandi Keto had a bake sale this month for the children’s eye project that made about $240 and last week the Neil Diamond Show made about $1200 and additional $625 came in as donations. In addition, Carol Goddard donated $1185 from donations she received from fabric that was given away from Jerry’s collection. After all these donations, there is $7564 in the children’s vision program. Ian will be using $2000 for his surgery. Paul and Mary are going to get in touch with some elementary schools to locate other kids with serious problems. Paul needs to take some other kids back to Ensenada for follow-ups as well.
Paul and Mary believe there should be about 20 new patients after the Eye Clinic on 4/27
Paul and Mary received $1,240 this month for the General Eye Fund giving a balance of $20,072 This will allow them to continue surgeries when the Rotary Grant is exhausted. Out of the $109,000 Rotary Grant, there is about $45,000 left on the grant

June talked about the importance of Intake sheets on projects. Procedure for forms
An intake form is needed for any new person we are serving. Per John Gilbert you can get one from Perla at the senior center if you are in town. Or request one from June Martin. The original is to be filled out and returned to June for our files, this also allows the group to keep track of which projects are completed or still on going; and the head of the work project will get a copy and record the progress of the work project. When the project is finished that intake form will be returned to June who will get a copy back to Perla for her records.
Eric Hodel is to be cc on any communication regarding the projects.
If you come across someone who you think qualifies for our assistance you can get their name, address, phone number and any information about the project to be done and send it to June and she will create an intake form and pass it on to the person in charge of the project.
WORK PROJECTS – submitted by Harry Projects worked on in February
Romero and Maria – completed
A lady in our community met with Eric and Harry about the needs of a family of 5 that has a roof that needs repairs – south of town – She asked if they would walk around the home and offer their expertise and that she will pay for all the expenses for this family’s project. Eric and Harry did their walk thru and met with the guys from Nuevo Cancion. Nuevo Cancion will be working on the roof. That is what helping our community is all about.

Jesus – his roof is really leaking bad. Arturo looked at it. Eric and Harry thought Jesus owned the property but found out that his son owns the property. John from 99+1 has a team coming out and some of them are in construction. John’s team will be helping Jesus out.
