#1 – M and R –
M is not feeling well today. She is in need of depends, bed pads and liquid drink. She is not able to swallow and is eating baby food. R said he would be making chicken soup today. L (the caregiver) is in Mexicali for a few days. They do have a few local women helping them.
We have the items requested and they will be delivered.
#2 – R and A
Liquid Drink regular – We had the pleasure of meeting L, a relative of R, today and she mention they are in need of a single mattress and box spring for A. There is also danger of the large tree branch over their sitting area breaking. E thought we might be able to put some kind of support under the limb.
#3 – D
*address deleted – D was in good spirits but she mention her vision is getting more foggy. June will mention it to Mary and Paul to see if there is help for her.
#4 – A C
Liquid Drink low sugar – A was looking pretty spiffy today in a new shirt. He asked what color and we replied café with a hint of cream. He prayed as we closed our time with him today. Very emotional experience.
#5 – C and M (wife).
Liquid Drink low sugar – C was able to come to the kitchen with the help of his walker. He is looking better and he also got a promising report from the doctor. His numbers have improved and he is now not looking at dialysis. The doctor has changed his diabetic meds and the cost has increased. His wife M and his youngest daughter A both confirmed the huge increase in cost. E suggested perhaps we can take donations to help them with the costs of his meds. This would be given to them anonymously. 500 pesos has been collected so far. Their monthly cost is currently 1,300mx. E will check in Ensenada and J will check in Mexicali to see if will be cheap to purchase there.
#6 – C – We greeted C today and she was very disturbed about a son living in Cabo who is into drugs. She can’t sleep and is beside herself. O spoke to her and hopefully she was in a better state of mind when we left.
#7 – A
A was sleeping when we arrived today. We had a nice visit with I. She has no new needs
#8 – A
She was making breakfast for a friend when we arrived. Her son has made her a shorter table so she can sit and prepare food. She has no new needs today.
#9 T and I
Liquid Drink – regular – I was having breakfast when we arrived and he and Twere in great spirits. They had no additional needs today. We provided a sleeping bag for I’s brother Iwho lost his home in a fire several weeks back.
#10 – A
A’s two great grand daughter’s were still here and we are not sure if they are back or still visiting. They are just happy to see us and share what ever they are doing.
#11 – V
